What is Tailspin?

Tailspin is a technology job marketplace where individuals can post the jobs they want and employers invite them to interviews.

Who is Tailspin for?

Tailspin is for software developers, designers, product managers and anyone else looking for a skilled job in the technology sector. It's currently focused on jobs at startups of all sizes, primarily in San Francisco and New York.

How is Tailspin better than a recruiter?

Individuals: Tailspin lets you skip over recruiters and advertise yourself for the job you want directly to a market of companies who are hiring right now. You post the job title, location, and compensation you want, and describe what you want the job to be like, the type of company you want to work for and your skills and work style.

Employers: Tailspin lets you go to one place and find candidates who are interested in working for a company like yours in a job you need to fill for compensation within your budget. You bypass any middlemen and get unprecedented control and accuracy over your recruiting pipeline.

How does Tailspin work?

  1. Individuals sign up and post a job they want to be hired for, anonymously.
  2. Employers sign up and invite individuals to interview for the job they posted.
  3. The individual sees which company invited them and accepts or declines the invitation.
  4. The employer confirms the invitation, which results in both parties' contact information being shared.

What are referral bonuses and why do I care about them?

Individual Referral Bonuses

By default, individuals can only have one live job posted at any time. Referral bonuses let you increase that number.

  1. If someone who visits your referral link signs up, you'll be able to have 2 jobs posted, simultaneously.
  2. If someone you refer posts a job or sends an interview invitation, you'll be able to have 3 jobs posted.
  3. If someone you refer accepts or confirms an interview invitation, you'll be able to have 4 jobs posted.
Earn points for referral activity, and use them to feature your job posts when employers are browsing. The feature is not complete yet, but we're already keeping track of your points.

Employer Referral Bonuses

By default, confirming an accepted invitation costs $25. Referral bonuses will earn you points redeemable for free interview confirmations. 25 points = 1 free invitation confirmation.

  1. For each referral signup, you'll earn 1 point.
  2. For each job posted and interview invitation sent by your referrals, you'll earn 5 points.
  3. For each interview invitation accepted or confirmed by your referrals, you'll earn 25 points.
